After the Casino Davos had launched the duck race together with the fire department Davos with great success in 2017, it was clear that there will be a sequel. On 31 August 2019, the duck race “Ente – Fertig – Los!” took place for the second time in Davos. 1500 small plastic ducks were thrown into the Landwasser river from a gondola. You could choose your favourite from the individually numbered ducks and bet five francs on the fastest. In the finish area, a festivity was run by the fire department, supported by apprentices from the educational centre Davos.
The revenue of the race are donated to a charitable organisation. This year it was donated to the La Capriola Foundation, which was presented celebratory on 18.09.2019.
5555 francs for the La Capriola Foundation
At the handover on Wednesday evening in the Casino Davos there were satisfied faces everywhere. Apart from the speech to the very well succeeded duck running and the thanks to all involved parties, the responsible persons of the donation La Capriola received the check over 5555 Francs with pleasure from Casino Davos representative Burkhard Aldrian. They will use the money for a project week to be held next spring. The purpose of the project is to help the young people who, thanks to La Capriola – a foundation to promote the professional integration of people in need of support in the hotel and restaurant sector – are doing an apprenticeship to get to know Davos
